We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching yoga, and we know this is even more true for our clients with scoliosis. We appreciate that your spine and your story are one-of-a-kind, and we feel that the practice plan we develop with you should be the same. Outcomes of this specialized approach include:

For 1-2 people. The dynamic movement practice you love, tailored to you to promote longevity and effectiveness in your practice. We offer precise alignment cues and hands-on assists to deepen your connection to your body. Benefits include:
Improving flexibility and range of motion safely
Building long and strong muscles through calisthenics
Enhancing balance & improving alignment
Alleviating muscular tension and pain
Reducing stress while increasing mental clarity
Improving mood & outlook on life, work and relationships
Exploring fun and rewarding “goal postures” such as inversions and arm balances, if desired
Developing reliable tools for self-care between sessions.

These sessions aim to resolve specific problems pertaining to the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. They are helpful for pain and excessive tension, coordination and balance, or feeling stressed out, exhausted, or like you are stuck living “in your head” and want to get back to feeling grounded, open and energized in the body.
We can include a combination of the following tools:
Traditional Yoga Postures to restore strength and suppleness to the soft tissues
Joint care & mobilization, great for stiff or achy joints and improving range of motion
Self-massage techniques to get into those troubled areas
Pranayama Breathwork and Skills of Meditation, great for settling and clearing the mind
Somatic Movement and Dialogue, ideal for those desiring a kind, gentle approach to stubborn pain/excessive tension that won’t go away no matter how much you stretch or massage.
Somatics can also be great for processing emotions that are stuck within the body and creating disharmony.

Chelsey loves teaching people how to move optimally in support of longevity and doing more of what they love, pain-free. She balances a compassionate and warm approach with her technical knowledge to work toward her clients’ goals in a safe, supportive environment.

Certified Yoga Instructor, Licensed Massage Therapist Kathleen specializes in yoga for scoliosis, yoga for dancers/hyper-mobile students, and beginners ages 25-75.
